MY SON'S HEALINGS

When I was pregnant with one of my children, I was also preparing to take Christian Science class instruction. Because of the close timing of the baby's due date and the class, I prayed diligently to see and acknowledge the supremacy of God's government, and I knew that the right adjustment and coordination of events would follow. I cherished the Bible verse that reads, "All things work together for good to them that love God" (Rom. 8:28). All things—not some or most.

Although my doctor had given permission for me to travel, listening for God's guidance with my whole heart was my first priority, and I was deeply willing to stay home if that was best. I cherished this passage from Science and Health: "Immortal Mind, governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual" (p. 427). I knew that each detail, including my travel plans, the 12 days of class instruction, and the baby's arrival, was under divine Mind's control and perfectly coordinated.

I was able to attend the class. The spiritual truths I learned and the inspiration I gleaned from this instruction built the foundation for my practice of Christian Science. The inspiration continued as I prepared for the baby's birth.
