QUICKLY HEALED AFTER A FALL AND A SUDDEN ILLNESS

The greatest blessing Christian Science has brought me is the assurance and power of God's love. The result of this assurance has provided solutions to life's many challenges as well as healings of physical problems. It has been proved to me many times that God, good, is truly always present with us.

One Sunday I was rushing to leave for church and fell down a flight of stairs. Although I'd injured the right side of my body, I picked myself up and continued to hurry to church. When I arrived, I realized that I was not going to be able to teach my Sunday School class. Someone kindly took over the class and I went to the church foyer, where a practitioner from the congregation came out and sat with me. After a short time, we both entered the service. At this point the pain vanished.

The next day I went to work. However, the injury to my hand was clearly evident to my colleagues, and mindful of their concern I decided the wise thing to do was to take off work. When I got home, I recognized that I needed to pray—really pray. That is, stop all my other activities and dwell on the truths I had learned in Christian Science. I saw that I'd been just superficially repeating familiar ideas but not setting everything aside and praying with my whole heart.
