A GPS FOR LIFE

On vacation recently, my husband and I took a couple of long car trips to places in New England we had never been to before. Along the way, we really came to appreciate our new GPS device. At just the right moments, its voice from the car's speaker would tell us how far to go, which streets to take, and when to turn right or left. As a result, we easily found our way.

Unlike during travels with a GPS, on our life's journey we may not always know whether the voices we listen to and follow are leading us in the right direction. Yet, when we're faced with adversity and tough choices, be it about relationships, illness, or financial hardship, there is an immediate and sure guidance available to each of us. God's leading comes to us in His spiritual ideas, which move us forward in the way we need to go.

The Bible prophet Isaiah knew this. "Your own ears will hear him," Isaiah said. "Right behind you a voice will say, 'This is the way you should go,' whether to the right or to the left" (Isa. 30:21, New Living Translation).
