I went into the 'prayer closet'

When I was little, I used to think that I had to go to church to pray. I thought that church was the only place where you could find God. But Jesus said that you should go into your "closet" to pray, and close the door. And when you pray to God, your Father, who is "in secret," your Father will reward you openly (see Matt. 6:6).

I learned in Sunday School that this secret closet is a quiet place in my thoughts and that I can always go there to find out what is true about me spiritually. In that closet, I can see my spiritual nature that is the image and likeness of God.

One time, I woke up very early in the morning with a pain in my right leg. At first, I was scared and wanted to call my parents for help. But then I remembered that I could go into my "closet" and pray. I thought about how I was the perfect reflection of God and could never be separated from Him. Not even for an instant.
