God's arm was around me

My name is Dawn, and I live in England. When this happened, I was six years old, but now I am seven.

Every holiday, I come to my granny's house to stay for a while. One morning, we were getting ready to take the dogs for a walk in the woods. I was putting on my Wellie boots on the front porch and holding on to the door post. Granny didn't realise that my fingers were in the door jam, and she started to shut the door. I began to cry because my fingers hurt. Granny quickly opened the door and took me to rinse my hand off. And we prayed.

We thought about two things. One was that God is our Father-Mother. And because God is good and loves us, He/She couldn't make things that hurt.
