I wasn't even limping

Last year at camp, I went mountaineering. I jumped off a boulder and landed hard, injuring my foot. I couldn't put any weight on it. My brother, Brian, who was also in the mountaineering group, came over to help me. And we prayed. Brian read me some of the Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly. That comforted me, and I wasn't afraid. Praying made me feel better and gave me hope that I would soon be healed.

There was a Christian Science practitioner at camp who prayed for me. The practitioner gave me a copy of Hymn No. 139 from the Christian Science Hymnal. It starts: "I walk with Love along the way." The next day, I couldn't walk at all, and I was on crutches. But I kept praying with the hymn and thinking about how I was walking with Love. I knew God is Love, and God would heal me.

I talked with my mom on the phone, and she prayed for me, too. She told me that I "live and move and have my being" in God (see Acts 17:28), and that God is all good. We talked about how in God's love no harm could come to me, and no good could be taken away from me. I didn't feel sorry for myself, even though I wasn't able to go with my mountaineering group that day. I did get to go with another group and participate in their activity, which didn't require much walking. I was grateful to be able to do some fun activities, like drama. Also, I got so much support from everybody at camp.
