What was in the ark

was all that is
and was and ever will be,

from butterflies
to galaxies, whirling and real,

balanced above the deep
infinite keel

of His omnipotence.
You and I and all that was

and is and forever is ours
are safe and sealed

from whatever shadows the dark
pours forth, buoyed up

by gentle waves of Spirit's light
on the bottomless

breadth of Love, the everrising
tide of Life.

What was in the ark
still is.
