When I needed help... God was there for me
OUR TRAVELS TOOK US to a motel in Monument Valley, Arizona. While we were walking to dinner one evening, something happened. I began to fall. My husband caught me and lowered me to the ground.
For awhile, I was drifting in and out of consciousness and talking incoherently. During moments of lucidity, God came to my thought. And I declared. "Accidents are unknown to God..." (Science and Health, p. 424). Throughout my life, it has been natural for me to turn to God in any adversity.
Several passersby stopped. One, a nurse, examined me visually. She said I had had a stroke and should go immediately to a hospital. My husband told her we were Christian Scientists and that he would take care of me. She was concerned and predicted dire consequences if her instructions were not followed.
