Grateful hearts
Praying for the world's children
Sometimes you wonder what results your prayers are having. But if you begin to notice good things around you, you'll see answers to prayer.
Recently the interfaith council for our area sent a letter out, naming four local grammar schools that needed volunteer help. After going to an organizational meeting for future volunteers, I was assigned to a third-grade class during its language arts lessons on Wednesday mornings during the spring semester.
There were at least six students who regularly read to me from their library books for a few minutes. I was supposed to listen and ask them questions to help them with word comprehension and ideas in the stories so they could pass tests and earn points that were posted in the classroom for each student.
