Prayer that hits you where you live

Sentinel Radio

My Husband Wanted to buy a ranch in the panhandle of Florida a few years ago, and this was 700 miles away from my oldest children. I had never been away from them before, and I really didn't want to go. But he was so enthused over it that I agreed.

I was not very happy there. We were miles away from town, and the people there were really close-knit and private. My two youngest daughters, who were teenagers, were having a hard time in school making new friends and adjusting. We had moved them from their hometown. Our new home just seemed to be a Godforsaken place.

The day that occurred to me, I thought, "This is not the way to think. And it's not the way to help the situation." I had not been looking at people there the way I ought to. So, I began praying, and the words "Be grateful and be a blessing to the community" came right then. I began to look at the people differently—to really appreciate them.
