Looking and listening on the playground
I'm a teacher, and every year when it's time for school to start, I go back to class like all the kids. I love to teach first grade, and I really love my students.
First-graders learn a lot. They learn to read and print nicely. They learn to write stories. In class we do a lot of math projects. We sing songs and draw pictures and paint. We practice our lessons to get better at what we are doing. We also have to practice showing kindness and respect, and getting along with each other.
Because we spend many days together, we learn a lot about each other. I love getting to know my first-graders. I've learned that while it may seem that we are all different in how we look and what we do, we are alike in some important ways. I've learned that we are all God's children. God is good. God is our Mother and Father. So, we all belong to the good family of God. I have found that I am the happiest when I am obedient to God.
