Spiritual healing and God's tender mercies
All healing comes forth from love. The Christian healer in steadfast prayer for the sick day or night, the nurse on call at midnight, the physician praying in the emergency room, the family member singing a hymn at the bedside—each one, in caring for another's needs and motivated by unselfed love, bears witness to a remarkable transforming power for good in our world. Love stands as a common bond among all those who yearn to relieve suffering and to heal sickness. Love itself is the power that truly heals.
