Christian healing today
Tracing the roots of contemporary Christian healing
You have a Friend who has paralysis. Medical treatment has not helped, and the condition is considered incurable. Then you hear about a healer, someone who has cured hopeless cases through the power of God. Maybe this man can help.
With others, you carry your friend to the house where the healer is teaching. But the crowd surrounding the house is so thick that you can't get your friend through the door. In a moment of inspiration, someone gets the idea to take him up on the roof! Together, you bring your friend onto the roof and then lower him into the room where the healer is.
Now comes the moment of truth: will he be able to help your friend or not? The healer says to him, "Son, thy sins be forgiven thee." You listen, feeling puzzled. Some of the others in the room are also questioning. The healer responds: "Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy. Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins
