I got the job!
I'm in the ninth grade. At the end of the eighth grade, I wanted to look for an internship in finance or commerce. So I had to go to Zurich or Winterthur. Since I knew that God has a place for everybody. I started thinking about what I really like to do. I also went to a job advisor. But I relied on God. That's the most important thing.
The possibilities were to work either in a bank or at an insurance company. At first, I applied to just banks. Then I wrote to insurance companies. Of course, I prayed, too, and read the Bible. Sometimes I studied Psalms 91 and 23 .
When it came time for an interview, I thought about what they might ask. And I prayed to be calm, to think about what I'd say. I prayed about this with great confidence. I'm sure that's why I got the job.
The company I ended up working for had received about 360 applications for 30 intern positions. I didn't look at the other 359 applicants as competitors. And I didn't think, “I hope it's me and no one else!” But I had a feeling I'd get the position.
I decided to go into a commercial field, which I'm still enjoying. And I thank God for all this. I have to conclude that my prayers had an effect!
Every day — it tends to be in the evening — I pray. For myself, and for the world. Sometimes I read something in the Bible, too. I think of prayer as giving thanks to God. When I really pray, I don't take in very much from my surroundings, because I'm thinking about what I'm praying about. I'm occupied with the prayer only. And that makes me feel good.
