"I didn't want to lose my tooth"

I'd suffered from a toothache for a long time. Every time I felt pain, I would think: “God is perfect and created me perfect. I am His image and likeness.” When I couldn't stand the pain any longer, I would ask my parents to help me. They would calm me down and pray with me.

People were urging me to go to the dentist and have the tooth pulled out, but I didn't want to lose my tooth.

Once, even when intense pain came back, I didn't get worried. I remembered reading something from Science and Health that says, referring to Jesus: “The ‘man of sorrows’ best understood the nothingness of material life and intelligence and the mighty actuality of all-inclusive God, good. These were the two cardinal points of Mind-healing, or Christian Science, which armed him with Love” (p. 52).
