Welcome!

Dear teens around the world:

It’s great to be chatting with you again. Since last year, some of you have moved on to careers and wonderful accomplishments. And some of you have just entered your teen years—that special period of discovering your full potential.

You are beginning to be interested in the world of today and of tomorrow. A world that in a few years will be steered by your views. The welfare of the world will then be in your hands. Your role is very important.

As you get ready, treat yourself kindly. God knows how worthy you are. No matter what the circumstances may be, God will never stop loving you. There is nothing you are doing, or may have done, that makes you undeserving. God accepts you. You fit in His/Her presence. He knows all that you have to give. God is all around you, helping you to see your own dignity and self-worth.

We value all that you represent—especially the ability to make decisions based on your intelligent understanding of God, your relationship with Him, and your desire to serve the interests of humanity.

This issue of the Herald shows how teens are proving, day by day, that it is possible to have fun and be aware that God is with them. It speaks frankly about how they have used their spirituality in dealing with relationships, health, addictions, fitness, and fashion, as well as with careers, jobs, art, and achievements.

The whole Herald team welcomes you to these pages and sends each one of you a big, warm hug.
