Protection from drowning

A few summers ago I was throwing the anchor off the stern of our boat, when the anchor line became entangled in the tail of a long shirt that I was wearing. The anchor, of course, sank to the bottom of the bay—pulling me under the water along with it. My husband was where he couldn't see what was happening to me.

I felt no panic or need to struggle for air.
