Help in the face of divorce

Turn to the one Parent.

Do You Wish you had help? You may well if you're divorced, are a child of divorced parents, or have a relative or friend involved in a broken marriage. It's encouraging to know that God, divine Love, provides help in the form of comfort and practical answers that support us and enable us to support others when times are tough. This support flows from the indestructible relation that each individual has to divine Love, the sole creator of man.

While we may already think of our relation to God as that of a child to a Father, a number of Bible passages indicate that God's love is also like that of a mother. For example: "As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem" (Isa. 66:13). Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy also explains that divine Love is our Father-Mother God. His love for us is strong, tender,and unconditional.

But there is something further about our relation to God: it is one of indestructible unity. Christ Jesus gave the perfect example of this oneness with God, showing that God and man (His image and likeness) cannot be pulled apart. God and man are distinct, as creator and creation, but there is no separation between Him and His child. No separation between infinite divine Love and Love's perfect likeness. No separation between God, Spirit, and His spiritual image, or idea. It is, in truth, impossible for anything to separate us from our Father-Mother.
