Never give up
Obstacles needn't be dead-ends.
Sometimes Doing The right thing is easy. The way opens up, and the doing seems effortless. Other times, pursuing the path we feel sure is right may be difficult and strewn with obstacles. What then? Does difficulty prove the way to be the wrong one? Should we simply give up?
Whenever we begin a course as a result of the heartfelt desire to do good, we should never give up striving to accomplish that good—no matter how many obstacles we encounter, nor how insurmountable these obstacles may seem. There is always a right way—God's way. And we will find it when we shut out the noise of anxiety and doubt, and quietly listen for our loving Father's guidance.
Following God's guidance may require altering our approach to a situation. We need to listen spiritually, carefully, and not let pride or willfulness cause us to cling stubbornly to a particular direction just because that's the way we happen to be heading. In the Bible we read, "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left" (Isa. 30:21).
