Healing following a snowboarding accident

I was in eighth grade when I experienced the following healing. It has really tuned me in to how powerful Christian Science is. During my long and detailed talks with the practitioner, who is also my Sunday School teacher, I learned so many new things. I have especially realized that Christian Science can be applied to anything. It doesn't matter how big or small the challenge.

My healing starts with me having a great time snowboarding with my family at Arapahoe Basin, a ski resort in Colorado, during my school's spring break. The sun was out and the snow was perfect. I was feeling great about the day. We got off the lift and started down. Half way down, all of a sudden I flipped over about three times. My first thought was "Ouch! My foot really hurts." I lay on the slope for a while and thought about how nothing can go wrong or be bad since I'm in God's care. My dad and sister were a little way down from me, so I slid down to where they were. My dad asked if I was all right. I told him, "My foot really hurts." I decided that I needed assistance to get down the mountain. As I was taken down in a ski patrol toboggan, I was still praying to know the truth about what had happened. When we got to the bottom, our family decided to call it a day and head home.

My dad, who is not a Christian Scientist, decided that we should get my foot X-rayed at a local hospital. Afterward, the doctor said that I had cracked a bone in my toe, and wouldn't be able to participate in any physical activities for four to six weeks. I went home and prayed some more, still trying to find the truth that would heal my foot.
