THE GREATEST OF ALL

Are you a fan of God?

When the musical Jesus Christ Superstar came out, many of my friends and I objected to thinking of Jesus as a superstar, a human celebrity. The meekness and humble obedience of this man didn't fit with the typical definition of "rich and famous." What is important to me in Jesus' example is that he never lets us forget that it is God who is the greatest of all.

In one sense, you could think of Jesus as God's most loyal fan. Multitudes sought Jesus, but it never went to his head. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, his answers showed complete loyalty to God and to Jesus' own earthly mission. Even at the crucifixion, Jesus knew that obedience to God was required so that all mankind could be blessed by the message of the resurrection.

What if all the love and worship that the public gives to so many human celebrities were transformed into a pure worship of God? Imagine what a change this world would see!
