“Play skillfully with a loud noise”

I play the violin in a small orchestra of around 30 members. We have a busy program. We play about eight concerts a year — six at a restaurant on the Wellington coast, and two at churches.

Our theme is “Around the World.” We play classical pieces by composers from different countries each time — from North America, Italy, Germany, England, Wales, Scotland, France, and Spain. We also play original compositions by New Zealanders.

I find that studying the Weekly Bible Lessons from the Bible and Science and Health each day uplifts my thoughts, encourages me, and helps me focus on the music, especially during long rehearsals. It helps me to “play skilfully with a loud noise”! (Psalm 33:3) It also inspires, me to create my own compositions. :)
