"I have found renewed identity and new hope through your insightful messages and healing testimony."
Letters from prisoners
Editor's note: We thought readers might like to see a sample of some recent letters from prisoners who are benefiting from reading the Sentinel. Their names have been withheld for their protection and privacy.
I have always thought of myself as an atheist. I have, however, recently had the unique opportunity to read some of the magazines to which my cellmate subscribes—one being the Christian Science Sentinel, which has revealed the obvious former error in my thinking. I have found renewed identity and new hope through your insightful messages and healing testimony. I can see how blind I have been for many, many years.
Wichita County, Texas
The Sentinel has completely changed my whole outlook on life. I no longer see life through the tunnel vision I once did and which landed me in one of the toughest maximum security prisons in Texas. The Sentinel has helped and guided me to look at life the way our divine Father-Mother God has meant, for all His children were given the gift to see.
Coryell County, Texas
I'm in maximum security, and I have been receiving the Sentinel for about seven months now. It has been a great lift for me when I have a hard day here.
A lot of guys here would say I'm weak because I read religious material. I just wanted to let your staff know that I really do appreciate the Sentinel.
Lassen County, California
I wish to take a moment of your time and thank you for the weekly inspiration you provide me with the Sentinel. Being incarcerated, I need all the enlightenment I can rise up and receive. It is a very bleak existence that seeks all the hope and care that the heart can find. And the Sentinel provides this for me.
Brazoria County, Texas
The Sentinel invites your comments. Please include your name, address, and daytime telephone number. Letters may be edited for length and clarity. The opinions expressed in this column are not necessarily those of the Christian Science Sentinel.
