FROM WORK TO WONDER BALL

Laughter rang out from the other room where my husband and our two children were playing. Playing came so easily to my husband, and the children were always his top priority.

Of course they were my top priority, too, but in addition to working outside of the home full time, there was still the shopping, cooking, and cleaning to do. Even when I sat down to read to the children, I was so tired I yawned through the whole book. I had completely lost the joie de vivre I once had.

I felt terribly left out. So I stopped what I was doing and with all my heart reached out to God for help. I was certain that God had not intended for me to live a joyless life. Right away, something Christ Jesus said came to me. Parents were bringing their children to Jesus to be blessed, but his disciples were turning them away. Jesus saw this and rebuked them, saying, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." He went on to say, "Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein" (Mark 10:14, 15).
