Abscessed tooth cured

"Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation" (Science and Health, p. 393). These words came to mind shortly after a tooth had started to ache and an abscess was evident. Although the message was of great comfort, the tooth continued to ache, so I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. This was readily given.

Over the next day or two the pain fluctuated from one extreme to another. Finally the practitioner reminded me that because God is perfect, man as His reflection must also be perfect. As Mrs. Eddy says, "The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea,—perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration" (Science and Health, p. 259).

I started to look up references to perfect man in the Concordances to Mrs. Eddy's writings, but before I had got very far the abscess began to drain, the pain vanished, and the swelling in my face began to subside. In another day or two this had gone completely.
