Some months ago while traveling for pleasure in a neighboring country, I experienced a hearing loss in one ear. As this was early in our vacation, I was not concerned about the greater difficulty this condition could present once I was back at work. That very day the loving treatment of a Christian Science practitioner was enlisted. She pointed out, and I acknowledged, that the faculties of man rest solely with the divine Mind. A statement from Science and Health proved most helpful: "Never born and never dying, it were impossible for man, under the government of God in eternal Science, to fall from his high estate" (p. 258). Therefore, I reasoned, there could never be a loss or lack in my status as God's expression.
That evening I was suddenly aware of the blockage in my ear being released. I could hear perfectly well!
