Dealing with crime through prayer
One Thanksgiving morning a friend and I left home early to do an errand before attending a Thanksgiving church service. After our errand we still had about twenty minutes before the doors of the church would be open. So we stopped at a store to pick up a small item. We were in the back of the store when a man in a black ski mask grabbed my friend's arm and said gruffly, "Lie down!"
I turned when I heard his voice and saw he had a gun. Both of us lay down on the floor, not believing what was happening. I heard my friend say aloud, "God is my Life." She was firm in her conviction. Then we heard a shot. The man had moved away from us without touching us or our belongings.
By now, both of us were firmly declaring truths about God and His government of man. What I was affirming went something like this: "There is nothing going on but God imparting good to His children, and there is no outside to His allness. Everyone is a spiritual idea of the one Mind which is all Love. God's idea, man, lives to love.
