In her Miscellaneous Writings, Mary Baker Eddy has given a wonderful promise: "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for to-morrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment" (p. 307).
When prayerfully seeking God's help during a stressful period of several jobless and empty-cupboard months, I discovered this passage. I found it so inspiring that I took some poster card-board, printed it out with a large blue marker and hung it over the mirror above my bureau so that every morning it was the first thing I saw when arising. I would stop, and through yawns, read it thoughtfully and prayerfully. I believed it! I thanked God for it! I tried to be obedient to its requirements: not to ask for tomorrow, to wait never doubting, and to know that we would have all that we would need every moment.
My husband and I would start out job hunting every day, full of hope and faith. But no job opening appeared. We were, however, learning more about God's provision as being the result of His law of supply and demand. Where there is a genuine need or demand, right there is the immediate spiritual supply to meet it.
