Church burnings: healing, reconciliation, and solidarity
Over the past year, Americans have been shaken by attacks on black churches and white churches across several states that have left a trail of charred pews, broken stained-glass windows, and smoke-filled sanctuaries.
At an interfaith service sponsored by the Princeton (New jersey) Clergy Association at the Witherspoon Street Presbyterian Church, the minister, the Reverend john E. white, called for healing, reconciliation, and solidarity. One of his texts was a passage from St. Mark's Gospel, "Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother" (see Mark 3:31–35).
