My family learned about Christian Science many years ago...
My family learned about Christian Science many years ago when my great-grandmother was dying of cancer of the womb. She was healed as she read Science and Health. Not only was the cancer eradicated, but she was so completely restored that she subsequently gave birth to my grandmother. Through five generations our family has had healings of sin, disease, and lack, solely through reliance on God.
When my husband and I had been married for almost seven years, we felt desperate to have a baby. That autumn I began to pray in earnest about this specific problem, having been pronounced infertile. Several other healings accompanied the spiritual growth that took place during this period.
We were at first asking, "Can this be healed? Should it be healed? Do we deserve it?" I'd had false signs of pregnancy three times and was finally diagnosed as having a particular medical condition that prevented pregnancy. I did not elect to pursue medical treatment; I had friends who had done so for this same condition, and while some had babies, some didn't. I felt very strongly about healing this condition through Christian Science.
