"If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (II Cor. 5:17). This statement from the Bible has certainly been proved true to me. Through the study of Christian Science, I've been transformed from being a dishonest person to an honest one.
I was desperately seeking a job, and began my search at an employment agency where I was given an application. Upon its completion, an interviewer called me to ask why I hadn't entered any work history. I stated honestly that I had no prior work experience to speak of. (For most of my life, I had been engaged in illicit activity and had never had steady employment; my healing of this behavior appeared in the Sentinel of January 28, 1991.) He replied, "Well, we're going to have to doctor your résumé." This was a moment of decision for me. The first lines of a hymn describe so well my predicament at that time (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 258):
