Healing: a Christian mandate
There's really no sidestepping Christ Jesus' mandate to heal. It's a calling direct from the Master—reaching across the centuries to you and me.
Jesus' dearest students, the twelve apostles, were the first healers he commissioned. Traveling through Galilee—preaching and healing all kinds of diseases—Jesus was "moved with compassion" because the people seemed desolate. So he urged his disciples to pray for "labourers" to "harvest" these Galileans, who desperately needed help and healing.
The answer to the disciples' prayers was right at hand. They were the ones to labor in the heavenly harvest. Jesus called them together and revealed their own "power" to heal, to rebuke all types of ailments.
