For children
God's creation!
God is perfect in every way.
He leads the horses to the hay.
All the kittens are beautiful in His love.
His birds refresh us with their friendly songs from above.
All His children He makes perfect,
In friendship, beauty, freshness, loveliness, and songs that we reflect.
This poem was composed by my granddaughter. One Saturday my daughter was working, and it was my time to serve in our Reading Room, so my granddaughter joined me there. We read together a poem in the Sentinel, and she was delighted both by its message and by the fact that it was written by someone her own age. "Could I do this?" she asked. "Why not?" I thought. She had been healed through prayer of an illness just the day before, so I said to her, "Why not put your thanks to God for your healing in a poem?"
She truly was feeling inspired to give expression to her feelings and thoughts. It was fun for both of us as she considered how to put into words her gratitude for God's care.
