How deeply grateful I am for all those who have taken the time to commit to paper their inspiring healings. How many times they have inspired and given hope to me.

When our second daughter was three years old, she apparently dislocated her arm. She was in a great deal of pain. My husband, who owns and operates an ambulance service, said if she was not healed through prayer in a few hours, he wanted to take her to the hospital. We had a friend who worked in the medical field coming to dinner within the hour, and I felt the weight of personal responsibility for the healing, as well as a sense that I was on a time clock to accomplish it.

I phoned my mother, and found help from her prayers and assurance. I needed to acknowledge firmly God's total power and stop seeing myself as a Christian Scientist who had to heal something before "medical people" intervened. As this weight of false responsibility was lifted, through the understanding that God was truly in control of all His creation, our daughter was healed within that afternoon. She had slept, at first restlessly, and when she got up she favored the arm for a few minutes. Then she declared she was "all better!" And so she was.
