What do you expect to happen?

Actively expecting God's goodness goes a long way toward ensuring that we experience it.

Prayerful anticipation of good is neither wishful thinking nor fanciful contemplation. We can confidently expect good when we trust God and His goodness. The Psalmist tells us, "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him." Ps. 62:5. Complete reliance on our heavenly Father enables us to await His direction patiently, for our "expectation is from him."

God is divine Principle, the source of all that really is. Every good thing is possible to God, Mind. And, as man is the expression of God, he is ever at one with his Maker and is thus inseparable from infinite good. When we understand this better and more consistently recognize these spiritual truths, we find that it is possible to expect and experience more good in daily life.

Hope can become spiritual assurance. It is felt when thought turns with childlike trust to Spirit, God, and His infinite goodness. Trust in God changes an outlook of failure and despondency to one of anticipation of good, to the spiritual conviction that removes fear. This points the way to the freshness and newness of ever-unfolding good.
