"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Prov. 3:5, 6).
I have much to acknowledge and be grateful for. My mother came into Christian Science before I was born. My brother, sister, and I were protected from most so-called children's diseases and healed of those that did occur.
When I was about eight years old, I had an outstanding healing of scarlet fever. My mother prayed for me and had the help of a Christian Science practitioner. I remember my confinement. The doctor from the city's health department came to our home and examined me. He then posted a sign by our front door ordering a two-week quarantine. In less than a week, at my mother's request, the doctor returned. He carefully examined me, determined that there was no evidence of the disease, and removed the quarantine sign in confirmation of my healing.
