As our family has grown, I have felt an increasing trust in our Father-Mother God's ever-presence. Particularly I am grateful for a growing understanding of God and of the spiritual nature of being, which Christian Science reveals.
A small lump had been on my body for several years, but I gave it little thought until it began to get bigger and cause discomfort. In my prayers for myself I saw this as an opportunity to challenge and overcome various things through a better understanding of God, Spirit. As a result, my thought was freed from fear of material conditions. I adhered to this statement in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 428): "We must realize the ability of mental might to offset human misconceptions and to replace them with the life which is spiritual, not material."
The lump drained and disappeared completely. Normal activities had been unhindered during the two to three weeks I was working this out. From this healing, which took place some years ago, I learned that instead of fearing discord, we can be grateful for the opportunity to be freed from mental misconceptions and to grow spiritually.
