Spiritual uprising—the effect of Christ, Truth
No matter how ill or lost we may seem to be, it's never too late to be healed by Christ, Truth. When we earnestly, actively seek a spiritual understanding of God and man, freedom is gained. And in such a spiritual uprising, suffering and undesired habits fall away.
Speaking of waking up from the mortal dream, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy observes: "This awakening is the forever coming of Christ, the advanced appearing of Truth, which casts out error and heals the sick. This is the salvation which comes through God, the divine Principle, Love, as demonstrated by Jesus." Science and Health, p. 230.
Christ Jesus understood and loved his Father with his whole heart and mind; he exemplified Christ. All that he did was inspired by his oneness, his sonship, with God. Jesus taught us the way to escape the misery of sinful living and its ramifications. As we become willing to strive wholeheartedly after spiritual life, we realize why the way he presented is the only solution to the problem of being.
