Childlike faith
My widowed mother
saw her meager earnings
as that which God would magnify
into sufficient supply—
as Jesus saw the five loaves and two fishes.
Hers was a constant demonstration.
She lived the truth she knew
with childlike faith
that does not doubt.
This is what she held on to: God is Love.
She never asked Him to be more
but trusted surely
that He loved
and cared for
that He provided for
and healed
that He companioned and comforted.
She practiced what she believed
simply, certainly,
through the hardest testing times—
and made her life a sermon.
