Traffic lights

FOR CHILDREN

Each time I have to cross the street,
I'm always safe, I know,
If I obey the traffic lights
That tell me "Stop" or "Go."

And like a little traffic light
With a different kind of glow,
There's something in my thinking, too,
That tells me "Yes" or "No."

Sometimes my inner traffic light
Is red as red can be.
It tells me I should stop and think;
It gives a "No" to me.

At other times my light is green,
And then I go ahead—
Glad that everywhere I turn
If I listen, I'll be led.

As I obey each traffic light
That in my thought I see,
I know my Father-Mother God
Is safely guiding me.
