Keeping the perfect model in view
A pewter factory guide explained that each piece of a set of mugs was fashioned by hand after it had been removed from a mold. Asked how a craftsman made sure each matched the others, he pointed to a mug on a shelf above the workbench. "The artisan refers to that mug and uses it as his model," he said.
As the artisan fashions pewter mugs, we fashion concepts of ourselves and others. But we are likely to do slipshod work if we don't keep in view the perfect model, God's spiritual man.
Man is the expression of God. He reflects God's qualities and attributes, such as integrity, intelligence, health, and eternal life. God's man can never deviate from perfection, because God is his author—the authority that creates, maintains, and perpetuates His idea, man.
