For fresh views of Truth

Maybe at some time we've been given a small gift disguised in a large package. Inside the first parcel is a smaller one, and inside that a smaller still, and so on. "Unwrapping" the truth in Christian Science is somewhat comparable in this sense: each fresh truth of being we glean unpacks yet one more. On the other hand, it is quite different in that each step in this unwrapping brings its own sense of satisfaction and enrichment

The pursuit of Truth is never stale or boring. It can never even seem to be so, as long as we remember the limitlessness of Truth, God. "Truth cannot be stereotyped; it unfoldeth forever," No and Yes, p. 45; Mary Baker Eddy says. Its resources are without bounds or borders. That which blossoms forever, that which is eternal Life itself, offers no possibilities of monotony. Our real self unfolds forever. Our individuality is inseparable from what Truth is ever manifesting. Humanly speaking, we must continue to be seekers for Truth until we maintain permanently the realization that we are the very idea, or manifestation, of Truth.

Mind-science opens out to us endless vistas of being. "Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love," Science and Health, p. 66; Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. There's never any need for our inspiration to go flat. It never does, so long as we approach study with the exuberant conviction that we are Truth's very self-expression. The focus of the Christian Scientist's study is the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. These have a finite number of words. But the implications and meanings of the words are infinite. As we search for meanings we are led into the endless universe of Spirit. When approached rightly, these books always have something fresh to say to us. They break fresh spiritual ground as we work with them. These books are not simply religious speculations addressed to mortals. Mrs. Eddy's writings are not the personal opinions of a nineteenth-century New England woman. They represent Truth's revealing of itself.
