I am writing this testimony in the hope that it will encourage young people to recognize the blessing of Christian Science in proving right companionship in marriage. My parents enrolled me in The Mother Church Sunday School when I was twelve years of age. I am grateful for the fine teaching I received there, which laid the foundation for a happy life.
My mother passed on when I was fourteen. I always loved children, and from the time I was in my late teens I longed for a home and children, and I prayed that I would be guided to marry the right man.
Among the young men I had as friends, one enlisted in the First World War and was overseas nearly two years. During this time we corresponded. When he returned home, we started going together. As time went on I grew to love him for his quiet, kind, and thoughtful manner. After two years we were married and came to California to make our home.
