Wisdom that heals
How does the Bible wisdom heal?
As an overseas student in my first year at a British university, I had gone down to London for the Easter vacation and promptly become quite ill. With help from a Christian Science practitioner I had made progress. I was up during the day, but fever still kept me tossing at night. Finally, as termtime approached, I decided I must make a move toward freedom. So there I was, for the last weekend, staying at an inn in the Lake District and out for a walk before dinner. Feeling a bit of new strength, I went farther than I intended.
Fog came down and thickened. I took an uncertain turning, then another, which led me higher among sheep tracks. The dampness turned to an icy drizzle; the light was fading. Fogbound, soaked and chilled, I was lost in the hills.
