An open guide to Life
The Bible is alive with the truth of Life. The Bible's message to mankind sparkles with spiritual vitality, recharging human hope and invigorating those who are receptive with a provable knowledge of what life is and isn't.
What life isn't is matter—not even temporarily. The Scriptures uncompromisingly condemn a material view of life as being the opposite of Life, God, and incapable of supplying what the Bible promises—life, love, health, fulfillment: "We are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die.... The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." Rom. 8:12, 13, 16;
Christian Science reiterates and demonstrates the truth of Life, showing that even now all being is Spirit, and that what we call matter is no more than a mental misconception, appearing solid. Mortal mind (the suppositional material consciousness) sees its own misconceptions and calls them material substance, law, and action. But material belief isn't substance, and its misconceptions have neither law nor action. With irresistible honesty the Scriptures expose the falsity of material belief and point to the spiritual nature of being. This is the only real foundation on which we can build.
