Whiskers
Peggy and Brad were brother and sister. They lived in a brown house with a big tree in their front yard. In the tree was a house where they would play with their friends.
Quite often, when they were playing in the tree house, their little dog, Whiskers, would romp around the yard sniffing plants and playing with his bone.
One day Peggy and Brad heard the screech of a car's brakes. They jumped out of the tree and saw Whiskers lying in the street. A teen-age boy got out of his car and brought Whiskers over to the children. "I'm sorry. I didn't see him run out into the street," he said.
