COUNTDOWN TO SUNRISE
I lie here quietly (long before the sky lightens
And the dawn comes) establishing who I am—
Beloved child of loving Father-Mother,
Unpressured in the equipollence of Soul,
In true being perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect.
I am cradled in eternity. No mortal history
Past, or present, or threatening in the future
Can drag me down. I am no anxious swimmer
In river where waterweeds clutch. I stand on Horeb
In clean, pure air of everlasting Truth,
Innocent in unfolding sense of Being,
Loved and loving, knowing no coming or going,
Alone, but not lonely in the infinite family of Spirit,
Secure as bird in open firmament of heaven.
I am His own, not wondering what I am;
Contented to be the expression of His I am
;
And in the marvelously clear light of this awareness,
I lightly rise to explore eternal day.
