Our Spiritual Purpose in Life

How do we deal with boredom or apathy? Listen to this call of Mrs. Eddy's: "The purpose and motive to live aright can be gained now. This point won, you have started as you should. You have begun at the numeration-table of Christian Science, and nothing but wrong intention can hinder your advancement. Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way."^{Science and Health, p. 326;}

Boredom, ennui, a lack of purpose, or a laissez-faire attitude can be decisively destroyed through Christian Science. God has given to each of us a purpose. This purpose becomes splendidly clear as we learn to listen to the spiritual ideas imparted to us by Life, God. When we are receptive to these and express and reflect God's— Love's—qualities in our daily lives, we experience depths of spiritual satisfaction that we never knew existed.

The Father's way opens to us as we pray deeply and listen. God's thoughts come to us, and through spiritual reflection we are enabled to demonstrate His nature, His will. For what higher or more satisfying purpose could we ask?
