I would like to express my gratitude for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, for Christian Science, and for Mrs. Eddy. My first experience in this healing Science was one for which I will always be grateful, thanks to the compassionate interest shown me by very kind Christian Scientists.

I had suffered what was diagnosed as a compression fracture of the spine when I was thrown to the ground from some height while a friend and I were cutting down tall coconut palms. As a result, I was wearing a back brace that went from the pelvis to the chest. I had been told I would have to wear it for at least two months. At the time, the physical problems seemed small compared to the mental hurt and broken heart I had been carrying around for many years.

Two weeks after I left the hospital I saw a friend who told me of Christian Science and how it had helped many people in distress and need. I listened intently. She gave me a Sentinel, which I read, enjoyed, and kept. A few days later she gave me a list of Christian Science practitioners. I selected one and called for an appointment. Upon entering the practitioner's home, I felt a warm sense of peace and comfort I had never known before. This person spent several hours telling me of Christian Science and its Discoverer and Founder, Mrs. Eddy. As I listened, I was calm and relieved. When I left I could feel myself smiling all over.
