Cover with a covering, but not of my spirit (Isa. 30:1)

"Cover with a covering" is literally "pour out a libation." A libation, or drink offering, was poured out when a league or covenant was made (in this instance with Egypt). The New English Bible has, "You weave schemes, but not inspired by me."

Your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed (Jer. 29:8)
